Abstract

Recently, a combination of biochemical, chemical, physical and engineering techniques enabled a substantial advancement of determination of primary structure of nucleic acids. New methods emerged that made DNA sequencing faster, less expensive and less labor-consuming. This review describes principles of the current and new sequencing methods as well as indicates directions of future development.
